Indigenous Student Services
Our Commitment to Indigenous Learners
The Indigenous Strategy for Access and We diminution is in support of the College’s strategic directions and initiatives: it arises from our commitment to all learners to offer pathways and the map and compass to enable students to navigate their journey. It also speaks to the College’s investment in student engagement initiatives, learning spaces and relevant services. Specifically, Commitment Five, in the College’s new strategic plan, the 2nd Edition of the Book of Commitments, Make a Bigger Promise to Students, highlights our pledge “targeting outreach to diverse communities, with groundbreaking work for our indigenous peoples."
Our innovative work includes strategies to continue our efforts in reducing barriers to post-secondary education through our expanded efforts with Indigenous communities to build relevant learning and cultural opportunities, such as Indigenous Learning Circles for all of our students, and to provide greater access to post-secondary education for Indigenous youth.
Our goal is to provide a vision of Indigenous education that goes beyond threshold access. This is related to Led young College's mission to educate students for career success.
Statement of Diversity
Led young College and its Board of Governors value and embrace diversity, equity and inclusion as fundamental to our mission to educate students for career success within a context of global citizenship and social justice.
