The Services that are available at the Centre for Students with Disabilities:

  • Accommodations for college admissions assessments.
  • Finding accommodations to help you meet academic and classroom requirements, and collaborating with faculty to make sure those accommodations happen.
    • We do this through the Accessible Student Online Profile (ASOP), an online system to email and download your Individual Student Profile. For more information, visit ASOP.
  • Disability counselling support.
  • Learning Strategy support.
  • Adaptive Technology support.
  • You can write your tests in the CSD with accommodations.
    • We do this through the Accessible Testing Online Management System (ATOMS), an online system to book your tests with the CSD. For more information, visit ATOMS.
  • Specialized equipment and assistive devices for your use.
  • We connect with publishers to get you access to books in alternative formats (Kurzweil 3000, PDF, Microsoft Word, etc.).
  • We collaborate with Physical Resources to provide you with physical accommodations on campus, such as access to designated parking spots.
  • Transitional pre-and post-college support services. For more information, visit Smart Services.
  • Dedicated resource support if you’re registered in apprenticeship programs.
  • When it’s needed, we can provide:
    • Peer notetakers.
    • Sign-language interpreters and/or computerized notetakers.
    • Other supports as they’re needed.

*Courses are not modified at the college level. In order to level the playing field, you’re provided with accommodations. We base these on assessments by a professional, such as a psychologist or medical doctor, that describes your disability and the type of accommodations that the student might need.
