Gain an introduction to basic concepts and issues in quality management. The quality of finished products and services depends on the quality of the inputs. Consequently, there is a need to understand basic quality terminology and concepts. Topics covered include the management revolution, total quality management (TQM), continuous improvement and re-engineering, the human aspects of total quality, planning and organizing for total quality, total quality assessment and control, total quality assurance and purchasing management, total quality and ISO 9000. Recommended: Familiarity with basic statistics
