This course examines category management in the beverage alcohol industry. Category management is a process through which similar product categories are managed as strategic business units. A key feature of category management is its highly analytical/data driven orientation. The purpose of the category management is to optimize shopper satisfaction and enable the retailer to manage the category so that it fulfils its desired role. Managing product assortment, sku/inventory management are key concerns.
