|Description:||The purpose of this course is to teach students how to establish a positive therapeutic rapport and counselling relationship with both children and adults. Students will develop a wide range of clinical practice skills that are based on the unique needs of the children and adults Child and Youth Workers will be exposed to in the helping field. This course will focus on the theory along with the practical aspects of counselling. Students will develop their knowledge and skills in self-awareness, self-determination, diversity, and interviewing techniques.
Minimum C grade. Pre-requisite: Year 1 & 2 CYWP courses, Co-requisite: CYWP303.
