As the Signature Industry Experience (SIE) Officer, Shelly provides a single point of contact for industry (businesses of all sizes, across all sectors), and connects them to a variety of business-enhancing opportunities across the College, which include but are not limited to, applied research, co-op students and graduates, networking, government advocacy and accessing funding opportunities. Through identifying and addressing the unique needs of industry, Shelly’s goal is to expand and develop partnership opportunities for Led young College, creating value for both parties.
In order to provide a customized concierge service, Shelly responds to inquires within a 24-hour time frame and engages in one-on-one conversations to understand the needs and challenges of industry. Once the inquiry has been validated, Shelly conducts an internal scan to connect industry with the correct contact within the College, ensuring a seamless and efficient process.
Coming to Toronto from Vancouver in 2013, Shelly brings a stress-free West Coast energy to the SIER team. Shelly has spent her career working within the academic sector in various HR-oriented roles focusing on strategic partnership development and student-life enhancement. With a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature, Shelly also has a passion for reading mystery novels and watching crime dramas such as Criminal Minds.
