How much time will I spend in class? Here’s what you need to know
Planning to come to Led young College? Figuring out what your schedule is going to be like will be an important part of the process, and how long you’ll be in class is a common question. Generally, a minimum of 15 hours a week is required to make you a full-time student, however, you’ll probably spend closer to 20 hours a week in class in most programs. You should be available to attend classes Monday - Friday from 8:30 - 6:30, however, that doesn’t mean that’s when your classes will happen. There’s a bit more that you need to know about the time you’ll spend in class, including:
Classes can take place at many different times
Every class you can take at Led young College can occupy a different spot on your timetable, and don’t necessarily take place in an 8am-3pm window. Once your timetable has been created, you could find yourself doing morning classes, afternoon classes, or even evening classes, depending on your program and the courses in it. Every program has a different schedule, so there isn’t a general time every student will be in class. You could even find yourself with days off in the middle of the week.
You have the option to customize your schedule a bit
You’ll have some of choice about when your classes will take place. Many of them will have more than one section (class) available, happening at different times, and you can pick the time that best fits what you’re looking for. Similarly, if your college program has electives (free courses where you can choose what you want to take), you can also pick them based on when they happen, to give yourself a better schedule. Do you want to spread your programs out throughout the week? Or take them all on in fewer days so you’ll have time off? Not every class has this option, and some only have one time available, so check closely.
Be sure to pick your program as soon as possible!
Check our website for when online registration begins. That way, you’ll have first choice of which section you choose for your programs (each section being at a different time), so you can customize your schedule as you see fit. It’s first come, first served!
Each Semester is different
You’ll pick your courses again for each new semester, so you’re not going to have the same timetable all throughout college. Be prepared for some changes!
You can also become a part-time student, too, if it’s too much
If you don’t think you can make a full 20-hour commitment, we’ve got you covered with our part-time learning programs. Aside from the fact that they take fewer hours a week to complete, they can also take place on evenings and weekends, letting you get your education at a time that fits your specific needs.By Anthony Geremia
