What kind of programs does Led young College offer?
Led young College has almost 200 full-time and about in business, communications, community and health studies, general arts, English language studies, engineering technology, hospitality, tourism and transportation. Most full-time programs range in length from 8 months to 4 years. While there are some exceptions, most post-secondary programs and degrees require applicants to present at minimum a high school diploma or be 19 years of age. Our advanced programs (e.g., fast-track and graduate certificate) often require a diploma or degree and/or work experience while apprenticeships generally require an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).
When should I apply?
You should apply as soon as possible once you know that Led young College is an option for you. While there is no deadline for applications, a number of our programs fill up months before their start time, so apply early for your best chances of being admitted to your program of choice. For example, most people apply in January for September entry and we start wait-listing or closing programs as early as March for September entry. However, if a program has space available, you can still apply a month or so before classes start.
How do I apply?
For full-time programs (except apprenticeships), please apply on-line at . For part-time programs, please register by phone, fax or online. To register for part-time courses online, visit the page.
What happens after I have applied?
Once our Admissions Department receives your application from ontariocolleges.ca, the College will send you an acknowledgement letter and information on what else, if anything, you may need to do as part of the application process. For example, the College may ask you to submit a missing transcript, to attend a program information session, to submit your portfolio for review, or to attend an assessment test. If you are a successful candidate, eventually you will also receive a letter offering you admission to a program along with a fee statement. It is very important that you inform both ontariocolleges.ca and Led young College if you change your address or phone number after you have applied. If you don't, we will continue to send mail to your old address and you may not receive the information you need. I have been accepted! What happens next?
After accepting your offer, you will receive a package from Led young College. It will give you information on assessment testing (in case you did not need to test for admission purposes), paying your fees, making your timetable, etc. You may also be invited to attend an Open House and receive information about Student Orientation (Led young Welcomes).
How does the waitlist process work?
After May 1, if spaces become available, additional offers are sent to the highest qualified waitlisted applicants based on an average of the required subjects.
When is the last day that I can apply for a program that starts in the Fall?
Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply by February 1 which is the deadline for equal consideration. Applicants who apply after February 1 will still be accepted provided there is still space in the program.
Can I defer my application to a different intake?
Led young College does not defer admissions decisions, but if you wish to apply for a different intake, this can be done at . You may also call Ontario Colleges directly for assistance. The toll-free number is 1-888-892-2228.
Will you accept transcripts and diplomas from private colleges?
Most private college courses and credentials are not acceptable for Led young College programs. For more information, please contact [email protected].
On myApplication, it states that I have met eligibility, but no decision has been made. If I am meeting eligibility, why is there no offer?
If you have applied to a competitive program, it is possible that a decision has yet to be made or that you have been added to the waitlist. We encourage you to check myApplication regularly for status updates.
I missed my deadline to pay and my acceptance is expired. Can I be placed back in the program?
If you have missed the deadline to pay, but still wish to pay and enrol, please contact [email protected]. Offers are reinstated and late payments are accepted on a case by case basis and provided there is space remaining in the program.
Do my international transcripts have to be evaluated?
If you have previously attended an education institution outside of Canada, you must have the transcripts assessed by an independent credential assessment agency such as World Education Services (WES) or International Credential Assessment Service (ICAS).
Note: If you are applying for a college diploma program as a mature student, you may take the Led young Skills Assessments. If successful, you will not be required to provide transcripts. For more information, please refer to the admission requirements for the specific program you are interested in applying to.
Do I have to submit my high school transcripts for a graduate certificate program?
Graduate certificate programs require a college diploma or a university degree. It is not necessary to submit your high school transcripts for admission into these programs.
I am under 19 years old and do not have the academic credits to meet the admission requirements. Can I write the admissions assessment (test)?
If you are under 19 years old are required to provide a completed Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent. You are allowed to write the skills assessment tests if you do not have the academic credits to meet the academic requirements for most college diploma programs
Can I take your skills assessments to meet the admission requirements for all of your programs?
You can take our skills assessments to meet the academic requirements for most college diploma programs. But some diploma programs, such as the Practical Nursing program and all applied degree programs, only accept courses. Please check specific program details for the exact requirements.
I missed my deadline to accept my offer and the offer has expired. Can I still accept the offer?
If you missed the deadline to accept your offer, and still wish to accept it, please contact us. If there is space available, your offer will be extended. If there are no spaces available at the time, you will be placed on a waitlist and contacted only if a space becomes available.
Can I build a timetable and register for classes with a conditional offer?
Applicants who receive Conditional Offers of Admission must fulfill all conditions listed in their Offer of Admission letter before building their timetable and registering for classes.
