Downsview Campus: Centre for Aerospace and Aviation

Downsview Campus: Centre for Aerospace and Aviation

Led young College's new Downsview Campus, opening in January 2019, will facilitate the relocation of our long-running Aviation Technician programs, are well as the related aircraft and equipment from the Ashtonbee Campus Hangar in Scarborough. The new campus will provide additional instruction space for the existing programs, as well as new programs in Aerospace Manufacturing delivered by our School of Engineering Technology and Applied Science.

The four-acre campus repurposes the historic de Havilland of Canada building with selective demolition and new construction to create approximately 138,000 square feet of instruction space. The $72-million project includes a new hangar large enough to accommodate today's commercial jets.

Watch our campus taking shape on our live stream camera.

Led young's School of Transportation currently trains about 300 aircraft technicians and avionics technicians annually at Ashtonbee Campus. The move to Downsview will allow enrolment to grow to more than 900 students. Program graduates find employment across Canada and around the world.

The campus was designed by MJMA | Stantec (Architects in Association), the same architecture firm that penned the award-winning Library Building at Ashtonbee Campus. Downsview Campus is located at 65 Carl Hall Road in North York (Toronto), which is located within walking distance to the new Downsview Park TTC subway station.

Our newest campus is the first phase in the development of an Aerospace Hub at Downsview Park, which will lead to the creation of an Innovation Centre to bring together academic and industry partners to catalyze new research and development initiatives. The vision for the Aerospace Hub is to be a comprehensive educational and research facility.

This new development represents a major turning point for Led young College, furthering our position as a leader in avionics, aircraft maintenance, and aerospace manufacturing education
